Darcie‘s bouquet reflected the fun and cheery style of her décor. Her florist bundled vibrant blooms, like dahlias and spider mums, then wrapped the stems in a satin ribbon.
Darcie knew she wanted her invitations to be simple, yet meaningful. She dressed up soft wood-grain stationery with turquoise and orange Mexican designs.
The ceremony took place near a creek on Darcie‘s family‘s property. Darcie‘s dad and Andrew built an arch from branches found on the land. Friends adorned the structure with a Mexican tin wreath of hearts that hung over the couple as they exchanged vows.
Mexican Loteria game cards were used for the place cards and the table cards. Darcie used a stamp to personalize the cards with her guests‘ names.
The couple kept the same whimsical fiesta feel for their reception tent, but brightened the space with papel picado (Mexican paper flags) and bright globe lanterns.
A variety of rich dahlias, pincushion proteas and succulents graced the tabletops beneath the tent. Punched tin and glass votives surrounded each centerpiece.
A Mariachi band played joyful music during the cocktail hour and fit perfectly in the fiesta theme.
The couple grooved to their band‘s rendition of John Prime‘s "Glory of True Love" for their first dance.
Guests took home cookies shaped like cowboy boots and horseshoes, baked and decorated by Darcie‘s aunt.
Darcie found love while doing what she loves. Darcie was hired by Rob and Jenn (also featured in The Knot Colorado!) to help with their wedding. About a year-and-a-half later, Darcie got an email from her old clients, asking her how she felt about blind dates. She agreed to meet their friend, Andrew, and the two hit it off immediately.

“We both knew from week one that we were a done deal,” says Darcie. About a year-and-a-half into the relationship, the couple was hiking near Boulder when Andrew asked Darcie to be his wife. Darcie said yes and they spent the next year planning their colorful Mexican-style wedding at Darcie’s family home in Boulder.
